Event Recap of Digital Disruptors: Meet the Black and Brown voices redefining media

On Tuesday night,  URL Media and BOMESI (Black Owned Media Equity & Sustainability Institute) came together on the rooftop of Infillion. Overlooking a beautiful sunset across NYC, we clinked glasses and talked about the importance of Black and Brown stories. We talked about continuing to disrupt the advertising and media landscapes, sheerly through our partnership. And we talked about the importance of sending 💰 to diverse publishers, as our collective buying power grows and grows. Our VP of Sales, Melanie Figueiredo noted: "Based on the current vibe at Ad Week, AI and ad tech are being touted as the new solves, the new everything. But a few key components are missing from this mix: Identity. Intersectionality. Media consumers are the most important variable, as they identify with the content they are consuming.AI hasn’t quite cracked the code on how to mimic the nuances of humanity. This is where the power of Black-and-Brown media come in. Tradition, culture, community, belonging."Thanks to those of you who joined us, and those of you who joined us in spirit. We got a taste of Advertising Week, and we’ll be bringing even more of our multicultural selves to the event next year. Native drummers. International foods. More of our media partners. Black and Brown faces, and a soft landing for diverse stories and voices. In the meantime, our media kit is below and Melanie is eager for a follow up conversation, so drop her a line at [email protected].
