WURD Radio and URL Media are welcoming ONA attendees to Philly with a cocktail party at the exclusive Fitler Club, from 7-9 pm on Wed. Aug. 23. Join colleagues in the non-profit, local and national news worlds, to celebrate Black-owned and BIPOC-led media!We'll have a DJ, drinks and appetizers. Guests must be 21+, and space is limited so we'd appreciate if you would RSVP here by Aug. 16. About WURD Radio: WURD Radio is the only African-American owned and operated talk radio station in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (and one of only three remaining in the country). Started in 2002, over the past 19 years WURD has evolved into a multi-media, multi-platform communications company that reaches deeply into the Black community through radio, events, digital and social media. It is considered the go-to media channel to engage, interact and connect with Philadelphia’s Black community.
About URL Media: URL Media was established in 2021 as a network of BIPOC-owned media organizations. Our 21 partner organizations are high-performing Black- and Brown-led media organizations who content, distribution, and other resources to enhance reach, expand revenue and build long-term sustainability. URL’s foray into recruitment, coaching, and related services has been entirely organic—and growing quickly. Our co-founders are longtime media executives S. Mitra Kalita, former CNN, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and startup veteran; and Sara Lomax, president of WURD Radio, Philadelphia’s Black talk-radio station.
